Arsene Wenger to be honoured in Liberia
Former Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger is to be given Liberia’s highest honour by the country’s president George Weah
The president of Liberia George Weah was a former striker who used to play for Arsene Wenger at Monaco. Weah, who became president last December, will induct Wenger into his country’s Order of Distinction and make the 68-year-old a Knight Grand Commander of the Humane Order of African Redemption.
Weah has always given credit to Wenger for his career success. When Weah won the Ballon D’Or in 1995 he dedicated the award to Wenger for helping to bring him to Europe, where he went on to star for Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan.
