Thai cave ordeal : The Wild Boers team go home

Their ordeal had caught the attention of the world. The youth soccer team rescued after 18 days trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand.

The boys and their coach have now been released from hospital ahead of a press conference where they will tell their incredible story for the very first time.

The news conference is being arranged in the northern city of Chiang Rai, where the boys have been recovering in hospital since last week.

Government spokesman Lieutenant General Sansern Kaewkamnerd said doctors, social workers and psychologists will be at the news conference to filter questions and ensure the boys’ well-being.

A seasoned international team of rescuers using diving equipment and pulleys brought out the 12 boys and the coach through the tight, flooded passageways over three days, concluding on July 10.
