The US Secret Service has confirmed the death of one of its agents ‘with great sadness
and regret’ in a statement. It described the agent as a ‘dedicated professional of the
highest order.’ The man, with 19 years experience behind him, collapsed while on duty.
The agent died after suffering a stroke while protecting president Trump during his recent
visit to Scotland.
The man fell ill on Sunday at Turnberry, Trump’s golf resort in Ayrshire where he spent the
weekend.
He was receiving ‘critical care’ from medics in Scotland before his death on Tuesday
morning.
