Soccer fans were slightly amused when activists from the Pussy Riot punk outfit stormed the pitch dressed in mock police uniforms at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow on Sunday. Well, the protesters have now discovered that Russian authorities were not that amused.
The four protesters, Veronika Nikulshina, Olga Kuracheva, Olga Pakhtusova and Pyotr Verzilov have been jailed for fifteen days.

They were sentenced yesterday after a court found them guilty of violating laws dictating the behaviour of spectators. The court also banned them from sporting events for three years.
The group wants the Kremlin to free political prisoners, end arrests at peaceful rallies and the jailing of people for their activity on social media, and allow political competition in Russia.
