American Shahid Khan has bought Wembley from the Football Association in a £900 million deal with the intention of turning it into a base for his American football team
The luxuriantly moustachioed billionaire has pledged to give England football priority now that he owns Wembley Stadium.
Hear Mr Khan:
“I understand the responsibility and accountability that would be ours to accept, and at all times we will be guided so the stadium and Wembley brand are both protected and enhanced. I am grateful for all of my experiences and investments in London, and am privileged to have this opportunity with the FA to forge an agreement that I am certain will be a victory for everyone.
“Obviously English football is sacred and that’s the priority. We would have NFL after that and then look at other avenues to use the stadium.”

The Pakistani-born tycoon, 67, already owns Fulham Football Club and the Florida-based Jacksonville Jaguars.
Mr Khan arrived in the United States aged 16 with only $500 in his pocket. He has gone on to become one of the world’s richest men.
Mr Khan's fortune is estimated by Forbes magazine at $7.2 billion (£5.2 billion), placing him among the 250 richest people in the world.
