Mohammed bin Salman
It appears that in his tussle with Iran, the American president has found an unusual ally in the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman.
The Crown Prince has joined forces with President Trump to argue for a stronger stance against Iran, Saudi Arabia’s arch-rival in the region.
Interestingly, Salman has brought a new dimension to the controversy by saying that if Iran developed a nuclear weapon he would also seek to obtain one.

In an interview to be broadcast on the US network CBS this weekend, the Crown Prince said:
“Saudi Arabia does not want to acquire any nuclear bomb but without a doubt if Iran developed a nuclear bomb we will follow suit as soon as possible.”
About Iran, the Saudi Prince further said
“Iran is not a rival to Saudi Arabia. Its army is not among the top five armies of the Muslim world. The Saudi economy is larger than the Iranian economy. Iran is far from being equal to Saudi Arabia.”
