According to the prime minister, Mrs May, Britain plans to review its investor visa programme. The programme had made it possible for more than 700 wealthy Russians to come to Britain between 2008 and 2015.
Reports have confirmed that due to recent happenings, the government came under pressure to carry out retrospective checks on investor visas issued to Russian citizens.
The prime minister said that the Home Office was examining whether the route, which is open to all nationalities, was being used properly or whether there were loopholes allowing foreigners to enter Britain “who otherwise would not be granted access.”
