Kim Jong-un has met President Xi in Beijing during the North Korean leader’s first foreign trip since taking power in 2011

According to the state-run Xinhua news agency, reclusive North Korean dictator arrived in China on Sunday and left this morning.
The “unofficial visit” was only disclosed after days of speculation over who was on board a green and gold train that arrived in Beijing under heavy security earlier in the week.

During what were described as successful talks, Mr Kim pledged his commitment to denuclearisation.

Hear the chubby-cheeked dictator:
“We are determined to turn the North-South relationship into one of reconciliation and of co-operation. Denuclearisation can be achieved if South Korea and the US respond to our efforts with goodwill, create a peaceful and stable environment and take tandem measures in phases.”
