Bezos wants to make space travel cheap enough for anyone to explore the solar system
According to Bloomberg, Bezos said on Saturday in New York:
"The price of admission to space is very high. I'm in the process of converting my Amazon lottery winnings into a much lower price of admission so we can go explore the solar system."
A large chunk of Bezos' wealth comes from his stash of Amazon shares. He plans to keep flogging the shares to make space travel more accessible.
Bezos has touched upon the idea of "lowering the price of admission" to space before, claiming in 2016 that he wants to develop the "heavy-lifting infrastructure" to allow space startups to grow.
