Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt is probably world sport's most famous medical professional, having treated an incredible range of athletes, including Usain Bolt, Darren Gough and Paula Radcliffe.
Now, the man has launched a scathing attack on former Bayern Munich manager, Pep Guardiola.
In excerpts published by Bild this week, the medical guru describes Guardiola as 'someone with weak self-confidence' who 'lives in fear of losing authority.'
His working relationship with Guardiola was less than harmonious, and got surprisingly worse during Guardiola's three-year stay at Bayern. In November 2015, things got so bad that Muller-Wohlfahrt ended 38 years of service as Bayern's team doctor.
Muller-Wohlfahrt wrote,
'Guardiola didn't have any trust in me and my team. On the one hand, he showed no interest in medical questions, and on the other hand, he demanded miracles from us.'
Now back on Bayern's payroll, the doctor has delivered a vicious attack on Guardiola, claiming that the Catalan took against him from the moment he arrived.
'On just the third time we met, Guardiola came up to me and started ranting in an accusatory and aggressive tone,' claims Muller-Wohlfahrt. 'He said: "What is going on here? I thought I was coming to one of the best medical departments in the world and we have two long-term injuries!"
