Alexander Povetkin's legs refuse to co-operate with him as he is taken out by WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion of the world, Anthony Joshua
Those who thought Russian Alexander Povetkin would be a pushover for the champion were forced to change their minds within a few minutes of the commencement of hostilities as the plucky challenger took the fight to Joshua.
After just two rounds and some fierce exchanges of punches, blood was pouring from the nose of the champion. British fight fans feared the worst. However, as the fight progressed, the champion began to assert his authority.
Joshua became more mobile, often dancing away from the range of Povetkin's shots while landing some of his own.
All along, the Briton was not unaware of the expectations of the Wembley crowd.
To the delight of over 80,000 fans, the 28-year-old, muscle-bound Londoner duly delivered with a devastating seventh-round blitz, finishing off the Russian 1min 59secs into it thus successfully defending his WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO crowns.
Now for American warrior, WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
