Chairman Kim Jong-un has welcomed President Moon to North Korea for talks
Nuclear-armed North Korea has welcomed the leader of the South to Pyongyang on a three-day visit. The tyrant and his wife, Ri Sol-ju, walked out on to the tarmac when President Moon’s plane landed at Pyongyang’s international airport this morning. The visit is aimed at further reducing hostilities between both countries.
This is the first time in 11 years that a South Korean leader has visited the north’s capital. President Moon will also seek to act as a mediator to salvage denuclearisation talks between North Korea and the United States.
This could help to pave the way for the signing of a peace treaty formally ending the Korean War of 1950-53, which ended in an armistice.
