China cracks down on Christianity

One of the things that has always rankled most Westerners is that communism is an ideology that does not believe in the existence of God. Therefore, the ruling Communist Party in China is just behaving true to type by trying to clamp down on Christianity. Surprisingly, the same communist party is hand in gloves with a religion powered by evil spirits to the extent of having on the board of the ruling party leaders of that religion.

In what has been described as the most severe systematic suppression of Christianity since 1982, locals in Henan have been asked to replace posters of the cross and Jesus Christ with portraits of President Xi Jinping.

In a sadistic move, churches were raided and demolished, Bibles and holy books were confiscated and new laws were established to monitor religious activities in the country's province of Henan. Henan has one of the largest Christian populations in China.

The crackdown on Christianity has become part of a broader push by Xi to 'Sinicise' all the nation's religions by infusing them with 'Chinese characteristics' such as loyalty to the Communist Party. Over the last several months, local governments across the country have shut down hundreds of private Christian 'house churches'.

Willy Lam, a Chinese politics expert at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, said:
'Xi is a closet Maoist - he is very anxious about thought control. He definitely does not want people to be faithful members of the church, because then people would profess their allegiance to the church rather than to the party, or more exactly, to Xi himself.'

However, from all indications, it appears that the Chinese authorities are poor students of history.  They need to know that, in all history, the bible has always outlived governments, political systems, thought patterns, authorities, persons and arrangements that tried to suppress or destroy it.
