The star of the presidential motorcade is “the Beast”
The Beast might not even be used throughout the whole visit of the American president, Donald Trump.
Nevertheless, the presidential motorcade arrived in Britain aboard US air force heavy transport planes. This was shortly after an identical one was dispatched to Brussels for Mr Trump’s visit to Nato headquarters in Brussels. Interestingly, another arrived at Prestwick airport yesterday before the president’s visit to his Turnberry golf resort.
The motorcade, which travelled to the airport to meet Mr Trump in case the four helicopters waiting there failed, returned to the ambassador’s residence in Regent’s Park without him.
The president is expected to travel to all his official events in England by helicopter, using the motorcade only to travel the short distance from landing pads to palaces, castles and mansions on private grounds. This means he will be insulated from the public.
