There are reports that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has 'agreed' to become the new Aston Villa manager
He was moulded into one of the deadliest strikers in the game by Arsene Wenger, his fellow Frenchman.
Henry remains one of the best players to have ever played the game of soccer. Not only that, he has won the World Cup, the European Championship and the Champions League. These were in addition to winning the La Liga and the Premier League on multiple occasions.
After retiring from playing, he went into punditry. He then became an assistant to Roberto Martinez, the Belgium manager. The team eventually finished third, after beating England for the second time in the tournament.
With Arsene Wenger
Henry's experience with Belgium seemed to have spurred him on to want to pursue a managerial career. The celebrated former soccer star has thus left his role at Sky Sports as a pundit in order to focus on making that happen.
Hear Arsenal's all-time top goalscorer :
'Over the last four years I have had some extremely rewarding coaching experiences in football.
'These experiences have only made me more determined to fulfill my long term ambition to become a football manager.
'It is with sadness, therefore, that I have decided that I must leave Sky Sports to enable me to spend more time on the pitch and concentrate on my journey to achieving that goal.’
