Russia 2018 : Colombian stars receive death threats after being put to the sword by England

It is not exactly clear if president Putin will be prepared to provide a sanctuary for Colombia's World Cup stars, especially Mateus Uribe and Carlos Bacca who missed from the spot during the penalty shootout.

The players have been sent horrifying death threats after missing crucial penalties against England in last night’s World Cup clash.

One must add here that it may not be wise to take the threats lightly considering that this year is the 24th anniversary of the death of Andres Escobar, a Colombia star who scored an own goal at USA 1994 before being shot dead after returning home.

A particularly vicious Twitter attack read:
“Die Carlos Bacca. Son of a b***h. No-one wants you, gonorrhoea. To this country you don’t return.”
