The first and only England team to reach and win a World Cup final
Three Lions manager, Gareth Southgate, has been rousing his troops for the battle ahead. The battle is none other than the semi-final clash between Croatia and England in the ongoing World Cup in Russia.
Southgate says his boys have the character, the ability, the superior set-piece repertoire and they certainly have the unequivocal and very vocal backing of a nation daring to dream.
The England coach added that the players are ready to reach a World Cup final for the first time in 52 years, and the first time on foreign soil.
Hear the England manager :
“We’re really proud of the support we’re receiving. We can feel the energy and support from home, and that’s a privilege for us. Our country has had a long time of suffering in terms of football. The enthusiasm they have for these players, not only because of the way they’ve played but how they’ve conducted themselves. Disciplined, together, dynamic.
“Our country has been through some difficult moments recently in terms of its unity, but sport can unite. Football can unite.”
