Businesses and the inevitability of cyber-attacks

It seems industry bosses in Britain have begun to accept that a cyber-attack on a business is one of those things.

In a survey of 150 UK business leaders and 1,150 chief executives, four in 10 UK chief executives believe a cyberattack on their business is now a case of when and not if.

However, it seems UK chief executives were more optimistic than their counterparts from around the world, where 49 per cent said that they had visualised a cyberattack.

Not surprisingly, only 40 per cent of UK chief executives viewed customer data protection as one of their most important personal responsibilities in enabling long-term growth of the customer base.
