Despite the fact that the whereabouts of the three Gupta brothers are unknown, police and tax officials have carried out a second raid at their mansion

It is all part of an investigation into a fraud and money laundering case implicating the corrupt regime of the ousted president Jacob Zuma.

At least 20 officers descended on the Gupta's compound in Johannesburg to enforce a court order freezing the family’s assets, including more than 40 properties, a helicopter, two private jets, cars and bank accounts.

After Mr Zuma left office in February Ajay Gupta was declared a “fugitive from justice” and left South Africa for Dubai, where several sightings have been reported. Last week a South African businessman was arrested after filming him in Dubai. She had demanded to know when he would return to face questioning.

South Africa’s new president, Cyril Ramaphosa, has promised to end the corruption and cronyism that marked Mr Zuma’s nine years in office.
