The Red Devils deservedly went out after a disgraceful performance
Manchester United went out of the Champions League with a whimper. Certainly, this was not the United way.
The team were overly defensive. It was then hardly surprising that a potent-looking front four, of Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sánchez supporting Romelu Lukaku, failed to exude much understanding, cohesion and threat.
On aggregate United lost 2 goals to 1.
Seville are 11 points off fourth place in La Liga with a goal difference of minus six. However, United made them look like Barcelona. United equally paid for their caution in Andalucia when they needed to return with an away goal but came back with a clean sheet and complacency.
