This animal rights activist can count thank God he is alive today after being gored by a bull he was trying to protect.
The man was joined by a woman as they stormed the bullfighting ring in Carcassonne, in France, on Sunday.

Although the man was attempting to stand up for the bull’s freedom, he ended up with a nasty injury.
But seconds after the pair jumped inside the ring, the bull made a beeline for the would-be protector who tries but fails to leap out of the way.

The charging bull flings the protester into the air by its horns before making a follow-up attack as he lays injured on the ground.

According to
AFP, local police said the man, who is in his 30s, was ‘very lucky’ not to be seriously gored by the bull. Several matadors enterred the ring to grab the bull’s attention and stopped the protester from any further harm.
He was taken to hospital and treated for a ‘long but not deep’ wound.

The female activist was not injured, although she was arrested by police.
The pair were in the stands waiting for their moment to jump into the ring, which was hosting fights involving young bulls, known as the ‘novillada’.
The protest came soon after other animal activists hung a ‘stop bullfighting’ banner from a wall in the southern French town.

Bullfighting is banned in most of France but is allowed in some southern regions, where it is protected as part of local traditions.
Another activist jumped into a bullfighting arena in France weeks earlier with ‘Macron, you can stop this’ written in thick black letters across his topless torso.
