END OF AN ERA:
CHELSEA LEGEND JOHN TERRY BOWS OUT
With a trophy-laden Chelsea career behind him, the former England captain has decided to move on. His haul of trophies included the Champions League, the UEFA Cup, five Premier League titles and five Football Association Cups. Leaving a place he has called home since he was 14 could not have been easy. The reality of life however is that whatever has a beginning must have an end.
Terry and his children At 36, Terry believes he still has a few more years of football in him. However, despite the overtures from other teams in the division, he has refused to join another Premier League side next season because '' the mental side of playing against Chelsea was too much to get over for me.'' He has signed a one-year deal to play for Aston Villa in the Sky Bet Championship. The deal is worth around £4 million. He has also started his coaching badges. He believes he can learn from Steve Bruce, the Aston Villa manager, as they try to lift the team back into the Premier League. He hopes to return to Chelsea one day as manager. |
