PRESIDENT JAMMEH AND THE GANG OF SIT-TIGHT AFRICAN LEADERS
Jammeh meets mediating African leaders
Yahya Jammeh, the President of Gambia, was recently told in no uncertain terms by the long-suffering people of the tiny West African country that his time is up. Having ruled the country for 22 years, he had lost in the recently concluded general elections. However, the man has said that he would not leave office. This is a man whose maladministration had degenerated into an inexcusable tyranny. Sadly, he is not the only tyrant lording it over his people in the beleaguered continent. You also have Robert Mugabe who has been in power in Zimbabwe for over 36 years and Joseph Kabila of Zaire who has been in the saddle for a mere 15 years. Now, when will African learn that it is not really about them but about the people?
