Many found themselves in tune with what the president had to say on the subjects of China and free trade
Donald Trump delivered the first speech by a US president since Bill Clinton in 2000.
Judging by the overall reaction, it seems Davos delegates admit that Mr Trump was the best thing to have happened to them in years.
People are giving credit to the president for the current business climate
“Everyone’s making money, so everyone’s feeling pretty good,” one hedge fund manager said as he dashed from one meeting to another.
Sentiment in Davos tracks the stock market, which, as the president said, is at a record high.
People appear to be coming to the conclusion that there are two Trumps. The impulsive one on Twitter who, with his America First politics, is an unpredictable threat to liberal capitalist world order.
And then the man who pushed through the biggest tax reform since Ronald Reagan and who has reprised laissez-faire regulation.
It would seem people now want to separate what he’s done from his behaviour.
