Yemen's Houthi rebels fire missile at Saudi Arabia
Houthi rebels of Yemen, who are backed by Iran, have fired a second missile at Saudi Arabia. The missile was however intercepted and destroyed without the Saudis suffering any casualties, according to a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition fighting the rebels.
The rebels had claimed that their ballistic missile hit its intended target with precision.
The attack was in response to blockades by the Saudi coalition on Yemen's ports and international airport in Sanaa. The first missile fired on November 4 was intercepted near Riyadh international airport. This had led to a tightening of sanctions.
The Yemen war has claimed more than 8,600 lives since the coalition joined government forces fighting the rebels.
Aid agencies have called for more food and medicine to be allowed into the country after the blockades were lifted.
Nearly all of Yemen's 11 million children are in ''acute need of humanitarian assistance.''
