Ms Caruana Galizia, whose reporting focused heavily on corruption on the EU island nation, was killed when a bomb destroyed her car as she was driving near her home
Writer ran a very popular blog dedicated to highlighting political corruption
Anti-corruption blogger Daphne Caruana Galizia, 53, was blown up while driving near her home village of Bidnija in northern Malta in October.
It has now been established that the car bomb that killed the famous investigative journalist was triggered by a text message from a hitman on a boat at sea.
Three people, brothers Alfred and George Degiorgio, along with Vincent Muscat have been charged with the journalist's murder.

George Degiorgio, 55, is believed to have triggered the bomb from his speed boat out by texting a SIM card attached to the device, sources told MaltaToday.
George had been told when to send the message by his 35-year-old brother Alfred who called him after watching Galizia, the sources said.
He allegedly then hung up the call and sent the text from a second phone which he later destroyed.
The text triggered a TNT bomb thought to have been attached to the underside of Galizia's car beneath the driver's seat when she left it parked in a alleyway in Bidnija.

The suspects were arrested last Monday when police raided a former potato storage warehouse in Marsa, in the south east of Malta.
There they found a cabin cruiser owned by George and a phone and other electronic devices at the bottom of the sea.
