It's feared thousands of Russian ISIS killers would return home for the World Cup
Reliable sources have confirmed that home-grown ISIS terrorists are planning to bring bloodshed to next year's World Cup finals.
President Putin’s secret service director revealed that more than 4,500 Russian citizens went abroad to join jihadist groups in recent years.
FSB director Alexander Bortnikov has underlined the threat facing Russia
It is now believed that these deadly killers would be returning home just in time for next summer's soccer fiesta.
The FSB (Federal Security Services) has warned that terrorism is the number one threat to the World Cup, ahead of hooliganism and cyber-crime.
It's feared that battle-hardened killers trained in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan will return to Russia to cause havoc at the high-profile sporting event.
The Russians say they have learned lessons from the notorious Battle of Marseilles
FSB director Alexander Bortnikov underlined the threat facing Russia, warning that after “military defeat” in Syria and Iraq, terrorists are seeking to target Russia.
Some 20,000 citizens of states on Russia’s borders are suspected of involvement in terrorist or extremist religious organisations, he said.
"The terrorist tactics have been changing,” he said. “The leaders of international terrorist organisations are encouraging their followers to carry out the so-called ‘autonomous jihad’.”
