Ibrahimovic lands new Manchester United deal after stunning recovery
Manchester United are set to hand Zlatan Ibrahimovic a
shock deal to re-sign for the club after the striker showed
signs of making a speedy recovery from injury.
The Swede tore his anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments
after a nasty fall in United’s Europa League quarter-final
clash with Anderlecht in April.
Romelu Lukaku completed his £75million move to Old Trafford
this week but United still need to add more firepower after
Wayne Rooney joined Everton. The 35-year-old was ruled
out for a minimum of nine months and United opted against
extending his stay at the club, instead releasing him on July 1st.
United agreed to allow Ibrahimovic to continue his rehabilitation
at the club while he was injured and he’s astonished staff at
the club with his speedy recovery, according to the Sun.
There is now a sense that the Swede could return far sooner
than predicted and United believe he could feature as early
as October.
Ibrahimovic has offers on the table from the MLS and China
but his preference is to return to Old Trafford and Mourinho
wants him back.
A return to Old Trafford would mark a sensational turnaround for
Ibrahimovic, who many tipped to retire after the devastating injury.
