SAIF AL-ISLAM GADDAFI WALKS FREE

The militia group holding Saif al-Island have now released him from captivity.  This was six years after losing his freedom.  He was held in Zintan, western Libya, after the revolt against the government in 2011 in which his father was toppled and killed.  The 44-year-old playboy, who fancied himself as a possible successor before the uprising, was freed under an amnesty law passed by a parliament based in eastern Libya.

The Abubaker Sadiq brigade, the group responsible for guarding Saif, said that it released him following requests from a government in eastern Libya.
