DONALD TRUMP'S STATE VISIT TO BRITAIN PUT ON HOLD

President Trump and Prime Minister MayAccording to reports, the US president will not be paying a state visit to Great Britain, at least, for now.  It appears that Mr Trump is not unaware that there have been objections to the visit from some sections of the British public.  The president has therefore informed  Theresa May that he does not want to go ahead with the visit if it is going to lead to widespread demonstrations.  He would rather come when the British public are ready to receive him.

However, the prime minister's advisers are insisting that the Queen extended an invitation to president Trump to visit the UK and there is no change to those plans.

What seems to be certain is that the president's visit to the UK has been postponed
