PROBE WIDENED TO INCLUDE MR PRESIDENT

The investigation into Russia's alleged meddling in the 2016 election seems to be taking a new turn.  It is now to include Mr. Trump.  According to Washington Post, the president is now personally being linked with the inquiry.  This is coming after James Comey's testimony before the US Senate Intelligence Committee.

These were Mr. Comey's words: ''I was fired, in some way, to change-or the endeavour was to change-the way the Russia investigation was being conducted.''

He alleged that Mr. Trump sought to persuade him to drop inquiries into ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn, who resigned in February after misleading Vice-President Mike Pence over contact with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to Washington.
