Muhammadu Buhari, 76, is asking Nigerians to vote him to power for another four years
The ex tyrant had twice tried to rule Nigeria democratically before he finally succeeded in 2015, no thanks to Goodluck Jonathan's PDP's brigandage.
Buhari promised heaven on earth for the people and said he would be a father to all. Sadly, the former general has been anything but a father to Nigerians in the last four years. He has only been a father to those few who share his religious and tribal affiliations.
Even before the last election, many people had their misgivings about the Katsina man. Nevertheless, the ascetic religious bigot was swept to power in the election. What appeared to be going for him then was that he was regarded as not corrupt, that is, he had not stolen money.
However, I can say that he has proved, over the last four years, to be more corrupt than all former Nigerian leaders put together. His own corruption is the worst form of corruption. While others may have stolen money, Buhari has stolen lives.
The soldier-turned-politician always turned a blind eye as his boys and jihadist collaborators went about killing and maiming people in their thousands and possibly millions. Unfortunately, usually whenever the killings start, the armed forces, who are in his pocket, often refuse to lift a finger.
Who can forget the pogroms in the Middle Belt, the killings in the East, the West and the South South?
Moreover, for someone who has no regard for the rule of law, his failure to grasp simple economic principles worsens his case as a contender for the continued leadership of Africa's biggest economy.
I will therefore be surprised should Nigerians give him another four years to continue the task of decimating Nigerian lives which he started in 2015.
There is not much to choose between Buhari and the other candidate, Abubakar Atiku. It is like trying to choose between two evils. However, if I were to choose, I will choose Atiku, despite his reputation for corruption.
The chances are that Atiku will not only enrich himself, he will also enrich his countrymen and women.
Buhari's APC, over the four years that it has been in the saddle has proved itself to be an Islamic conspiracy.
I dare to say that Buhari's clumsy attempts to islamise Nigeria will always fail.
