Balloon of London mayor Sadiq Khan wearing a bikini is flown over Westminster after he backed controversial ‘Trump baby’ blimp
It is well known that London mayor Sadiq Khan does not fancy himself being counted among the admirers of US president Donald Trump. This was probably why he defended the flying of a blimp depicting Mr Trump as a giant baby during the US president's visit to the UK in July.
Most Londoners however think that Mr Khan should spend more time fighting crime in London instead of expending his energy leading an attack on the US president. This prompted campaigners to protest the spike in crime that has taken place during Khan's time in City Hall leading to the capital being dubbed “Lawless London”.
People then went ahead to raise more than £58,000 for a 29ft Sadiq Khan blimp as part of a campaign seeking to remove the mayor from office.
The inflatable effigy of the mayor was raised above Parliament Square on 1st September 2018.
28-year-old Yanny Bruere from Northampton, who set up a Crowdfunder page for the event, said it was done "in retaliation" for the Trump blimp. He added :
"I think a certain amount of respect should be afforded to the leader of the free world and the greatest ally the UK has - the president of America.”
