From all indications, it appears the universe is limitless. This is probably the only explanation for the fact that a massive new planet has just been discovered.
According to scientists, the planet is more than 12 times bigger than Jupiter. It was found drifting alone through space around 20 light years away from Earth.
Incredibly, massive as it is, the planet is not attached to any star, and is the first object of its kind to be discovered using a radio telescope.
Scientists may now need to re-write their theses and theories considering that the mass and the enormous strength of the new planet's magnetic field challenge what they know about the variety of astronomical objects found in the depths of space.
Hear Dr Melodie Kao, an astronomer at Arizona State University :
“This object is right at the boundary between a planet and a brown dwarf, or ‘failed star’, and is giving us some surprises that can potentially help us understand magnetic processes on both stars and planets.”
Scientists say that brown dwarves are difficult objects to categorise as they are too huge to be considered planets and not big enough to be considered stars.
The bible says that the ways and works of God are beyond finding out. However, there is nothing wrong in trying.
