Sukamiskin Prison in West Java, Indonesia

Sukamiskin Prison was built purposely to hold high-profile corruption and fraud offenders. It is therefore not particularly surprising that its inmates include Setya Novanto, a former chief justice and speaker of parliament. He had been convicted in April of taking millions of dollars in kickbacks and bribes linked to the national roll-out of government identity cards. There are other high-profile prisoners at the jail.

Staff at Sukamiskin Prison in West Java allegedly took bribes to upgrade cells of the wealthy

Now, it has been discovered that caged wealthy Indonesians have continued their lives of abuse and debauchery even behind bars. These rich prisoners have been found to bribe jailers to furnish their cells with air conditioning, flat-screen televisions and private luxury bathrooms.
Several cells had full-size refrigerators, coffee makers, microwaves and sound systems.
The prisoners were also supplied with banned mobile phones.

Anti-corruption officials have reported that in some cases inmates had been allowed to leave the prison temporarily.

As a result of the scandal, five people — inmates and wardens — at the prison in Bandung, the capital of West Java, have been arrested.
