Injured George Clooney departs Sardinia

Leaving on a jet plane: George Clooney and his wife Amal were spotted boarding a private jet as they prepared to fly out of Sardinia on Thursday morning

Oscar-winning screen star George Clooney has left Sardinia. This was days after he was injured in a scooter crash.

An Italian grandfather, Antonelli Viglino, had smashed into Clooney's scooter in Sardinia on Tuesday. 65-year-old Antonelli Viglino had come to a stop and was about to turn left, crossing Clooney's path, when the actor plowed into him, reportedly at a speed of 60mph.

The actor had bruises and cuts on his arm. Miraculously, he survived with no head injuries but he had some damage to his pelvis.

Clooney was seen flipping over the handlebars of his scooter, flying into the air, appearing to hit the windscreen of the car, before tumbling onto the asphalt.

Fortunately he was wearing a helmet and was driving slowly, but the windscreen of the Mercedes was badly smashed.
