A boys soccer team and their 25-year-old coach have now been missing for two days in Thailand. Emergency workers are frantically searching flooded subterranean caves where they went missing.
The 12 boys, aged 13 to 16, and their coach seemed to have been cut off by flash floods after entering the cave complex in the Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non Forest Park in northwest Thailand.
After their Saturday afternoon soccer practice, the team and the coach entered the 7km-long (4 miles) complex of caves, which range in height from 100cm to 150cm (40in to 60in). The section in which they are thought to be in is 4km (2.5 miles), with its exit blocked by muddy water.
However, rescue workers are optimistic that the boys and their coach are alive, but trapped in a chamber that has been sealed off by floods caused by heavy rain in Chiang Rai province.
A unit of Navy Seals, including divers, have been at the site since early this morning, but have been unable to reach the stranded boys and their coach.
