In Britain, a frightening statistic has revealed that a total of 70,000 youths aged up to 25 were part of a gang network
Forming a good chunk of the 70,000 youths are more than 30,000 children aged between 10 and 15 who have now openly confessed that they are in gangs, according to a research. This is very disturbing and the problem is worsened by the fact that children as young as ten are being groomed by drug runners and terrorist groups.
Sadly, the number of children aged between 10 and 15 being treated for stab wounds in England has increased by 69 per cent since 2013. Children aged ten are being recruited to take drugs from big cities to rural areas.
The sad thing is that this is not only happening in Britain but in most countries around the world. What type of societies are we going to have in future if children of today who are supposed to be the future of societies are being allowed to run riot.
The solution is for parents and governments to wake up in order to arrest the situation. Most parents are yet to internalise the fact that it is not enough to just bring children into the world. Children must be brought up properly so that they do not become a menace to society. It is also the duty of parents to be aware of what their children are getting into.
