Today, Doria Ragland, Meghan's mum, will join prince Charles and Camilla to meet the Queen in her private apartments at Windsor Castle
Her introduction to the royal family commenced on a high note. Ragland, a yoga instructor and social worker, met the groom's father Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall after landing at Heathrow from Los Angeles on Wednesday. They had tea together at Clarence House.
Ms Ragland also met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Windsor Castle, as well as Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, three.
Meanwhile, Ms Markle has confirmed that her father would not be attending the wedding.
In a statement she said:
“Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.
“I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”
There have also been reports that Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha was yesterday injured in a scuffle with paparazzi in Florida. It was said that a car carrying the 53-year-old and her partner, named only as Mark, hit a concrete barrier after attempting to avoid a photographer.
The website TMZ claimed that Ms Markle suffered a broken ankle and a fractured knee and was undergoing treatment in hospital.
