Yulia Skripal who, along with her father, was poisoned with a nerve agent in an attack for which Moscow has been blamed has asked to be left severely alone, at least for now
Yulia's cousin, Viktoria, who lives in Russia had been wanting to visit her to see how she was bearing up. However, the British authorities blocked a request for the cousin, 45, to receive a visa to travel to Britain. Ms Skripal has also asked her cousin to stay away and not to contact her for now.

More significantly, Yulia also confirmed that she did not want to accept the offer of consular assistance from the Russian embassy. She thanked Russian officials for their concern and offer of support.

Ms Skripal, 33, was released from Salisbury district hospital on Monday and is in a safe location, supported by the police. She said that her father was still seriously ill and she was still suffering from the effects of the poison.
