Leon Bailey for England World Cup squad?

The Bayer Leverkusen star recently gave the Jamaican Football Federation (JFF) ten days to convince him to commit his international future to the Caribbean island

Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey is set for talks with the Football Association over a shock England World Cup call-up next week

The player has hit 11 goals for the Bundesliga side this season.  He now has a chance of going to the World Cup with England.

Considering that the deadline he gave the Jamaican Football Federation has passed, it is clear that the 20-year-old will not represent the country of his birth and “will look at the options."

Bailey's father, Craig Butler, will hold talks with Three Lions technical director Dan Ashworth next week. The fact is that Craig has not ruled out his son gate-crashing Gareth Southgate’s squad for Russia. He said,
“England has always been a great option, it has a lot of Jamaican players that were there before that have played for England.”


Bailey, who moved to the Bundesliga from Genk last year, has become one the hottest prospects in Europe with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal monitoring his progress.
