Pharaohs feted by President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi as players receive $85,000 each for qualifying for 2018 World Cup

Egypt's President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi has now given a bonus of $85,000 (£65,000)

to each of the players who clinched a place at the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

The people of Egypt are still rejoicing following the country's qualification for next 

year's World Cup in Russia. It would be their first after a 28-year absence.

The president had special praise for match-winner Mohamed Salah, who scored a

penalty in injury time to secure the qualification, 'I am proud of all the players but 

especially of Mo Salah who was brave enough to take the crucial penalty'.

He also thanked Argentine coach Hector Cuper for making "our dreams come true".
