International Development minister Rory Stewart insisted the move would be the only way to protect the country against their terror ambitions

NEARLY all Brits fighting for IS in Syria will have to be killed, a Government minister claims.
Their deaths — like that of executioner Jihadi John — will protect the UK, International Development Minister Rory Stewart believes.

While dubbing it a “very difficult moral issue”, Mr Stewart told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Pienaar’s Politics: “These are people who are absolutely dedicated towards the creation of a caliphate.
“They believe in an extremely hateful doctrine which involves killing themselves, killing others and trying to use violence and brutality to create a seventh century state.
“So I’m afraid we have to be serious about the fact these people are a serious danger to us, and unfortunately the only way of dealing with them will be, in almost every case, to kill them.”
Mr Stewart was backing the US envoy to the coalition fighting ISIS, Brett McGurk.

He has dubbed his mission since the fall of the movement’s capital Raqqa as to ensure every foreign IS fighter in Syria dies there.
Of the 850 Brits who have travelled to Syria since 2011, 120 were killed fighting for groups like ISIS.
Around 350 have returned home, with the same number still there.
Ex-diplomat and Iraq expert Mr Stewart’s remarks come after The Sun revealed two weeks ago that ‘White Widow’ ISIS convert Sally Jones has been killed by a US drone strike.
Max Hill QC said many should instead be reintegrated because they only went out of “a sense of naivety” and got brainwashed.
