Paris Saint-Germain’s sensational summer spending
may not be over yet as they reportedly look to follow up
the Neymar deal with the transfer of Monaco striker
Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe has been linked with PSG already in this
transfer window, as well as with Arsenal, Manchester
City and Real Madrid, and is seemingly back on
the agenda. The Ligue 1 giants have just broken
the world transfer record to bring in the Brazilian in
a £199million deal from Barcelona, but believe they
can continue to spend vast amounts on bolstering
their attack even further this summer.
Likely to cost around £163m, PSG are aware they will have to sell players in order to make the move work, with a number of options already being considered.
According to Le Parisien, the first-teamers who could make way are Angel Di Maria, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Serge Aurier and Jese Rodriguez, while there has also been some recent speculation over Julian Draxler and Lucas Moura.
Mbappe has mostly looked set for Real Madrid this summer, though latest surprise reports suggest they’ve cooled their interest for the time being, which could allow PSG to swoop.
If the 18-year-old does end up joining for £163m, he will immediately become the second most expensive footballer of all time, alongside potential new team-mate Neymar.
PSG have signed a number of big names since their Qatari takeover in 2011, though if they could land both Neymar and Mbappe in one summer this would trump any of their previous work.
