Manchester United have cleared the way for
Chelsea to move for Tottenham defender
Danny Rose after withdrawing their interest
in the full-back.
Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the
27-year-old and is keen on strengthening
at left-back.
However, United were frustrated in negotiations
with Spurs over Eric Dier earlier this summer
and have abandoned their move for Rose,
The England international fueled speculation
that he would leave Tottenham by publicly
criticising the club’s pay structure and
admitting he’d consider bids from rival clubs.
That will be music to the ears of Chelsea,
who plan to submit a £50million bid for the
full-back this weekend.
The Blues visit Wembley to take on Tottenham
on Sunday and will table their bid for Rose
afterwards.
Antonio Conte rates Rose highly and believes
the full-back is perfect to play left wing-back
in his 3-4-3 formation.
The Italian’s far from impressed with his side’s
transfer business so far this summer and
wants three new players in in the next fortnight.
As well as Rose, Conte wants a centre-back
and a central midfielder.
