Lyon new-boy Bertrand Traore has aimed a parting dig at his
old club Chelsea over a lack of first-team opportunities during
his time at Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old striker recently made an £8million move to
Lyon on a permanent transfer after previous loan spells away
from the Blues with Ajax and Vitesse.

Sounding slightly bitter at the lack of opportunities, Traore
suggested he had grown tired of wasting his time doing all he
could to win a place whilst continuing to be overlooked.Having
only made a total of 16 appearances in a Chelsea shirt, Traore
believes he made the right decision to move on this summer as
he knew he wasn’t going to get a look-in in Antonio Conte’s
side any time soon.

‘It was time. Considering my age and for my development, it
was time for me to leave the club,’ he said.
‘I could have stayed at Chelsea and played a few minutes in
every game, fighting every day for a spot, knowing that I’ll never
get a spot, I trained at the club, I did everything.
‘Two seasons ago, I challenged the starters but we all know
what happened last year. I was there during pre-season and
then I was sent out on loan.
