Dramatic moment plane explodes into a massive fireball after clipping power lines while trying to make an emergency landing near Seattle
Several vehicles were damaged but there were no serious injuries
The pilot took off from Everett’s Paine Field just before 3.30pm but began to lose engine power, Q13 Fox News has reported.
He told investigators that because he was losing too much altitude he attempted to land at Harbour Point Boulevard.
But the plane clipped some power lines and then hit a street light which ruptured a fuel cell.
The pilot and his passenger were not injured.
Eyewitness, Amanda Hayes said she and a co-worker ducked under the dashboard after their van was clipped by the wing of the plane.
She said: “We saw the plane losing altitude.
“It was rapidly losing maintainable altitude. I got more nervous and more shaken.
“We definitely felt the fireball as it went over the van.”
Power was out for the moments following the crash but it was soon restored.

Extreme turbulence leaves terrified passengers with BROKEN SPINES At least 20 people – including three babies – suffered major injuries including suspected broken bones in the carnage.
A video shows passengers lying injured in the aisle after they were hurled up to the ceiling.
The babies were thrown out of their mothers’ arms by the force of the severe turbulence one hour before landing in Bangkok, said a source.
Now the Moscow Transport Prosecutor’s Office said it will “oversee the implementation of laws on air and water transport”.
