Cesc Fabregas insists Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is ‘completely different’ to Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho
Cesc Fabregas insists Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is ‘completely different’ to his former managers Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho.
Conte, 47, has taken the Blues to the top of the Premier League in his first season in England and faces Tottenham in the semi-final of the FA Cup this evening.
Fabregas has much experience working with the best managers in the world, having spent eight years at Arsenal under Wenger before joining Pep Guardiola at Barcelona.
The Spain international then played for Jose Mourinho before the Portuguese boss was sacked by Chelsea and subsequently handed the reins at Manchester United.
When asked about the differences between Conte and his former managers, Fabregas told BBC Sport: ‘He’s completely different to what I’m used to, to what I’ve experienced in my career.
‘It’s another philosophy, another type of football, I had to adapt like everyone else to do what he wants from us.
‘I’m just trying to play well when I have the chance and show him I deserve to play.’
Fabregas, 29, has only started nine Premier League games this season but has still managed to contribute four goals and seven assists.
The Spaniard will be hoping to make an impact as the Blues take on London rivals Tottenham at Wembley for a chance to play in the FA Cup final.
