Ander Herrera offered new Manchester United contract worth £120,000 per week
Manchester United are reportedly set to offer a new £120,000-a-week contract to star midfielder Ander Herrera after his impressive recent form for Jose Mourinho‘s side.
The Spain international has been one of the club’s most improved players this season, and played a starring role in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.
United have made a flurry of big-money signings since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, but Herrera has proven one of the most successful since joining in the summer of 2014.
Initially a deep-lying playmaker or attacking midfielder, Herrera has been reinvented as a more out-and-out defensive midfield player this season under Mourinho, with fine results.
The 27-year-old himself has praised the Portuguese tactician for getting the best out of him, and has been offered a significant pay rise to commit his future to the Red Devils.
Herrera currently earns around £75,000 a week at United, but has been offered fresh terms with wages of £120,000 a week, according to the Daily Mail.
