WHY THE BIBLE IS THE MOST WIDELY READ BOOK IN HUMAN HISTORY

The bible remains God's eternal blueprint for humanity.  While its contents may sometimes have been twisted by some for carnal reasons, this has always been to the hurt of the twisters.  The acknowledged truth is that the authority of the book is yet to be faulted as its position on any issue has always been vindicated.

To the dedicated reader, the God of the bible is the God of all flesh.  That the Word became flesh was the mystery of godliness, a spectacle that was beheld with awe and trembling by all Creation.

Nonetheless, until one actually comes to and becomes fully immersed in this work of imperishable riches one cannot begin to understand that the bible is the statement of the incredible potentials of man, the grand revelation of his limitless horizon and a panoramic view of the glories of his heritage. 

St. Paul had this to say to those who would come to the Word,

'But you have come to Mt. Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.'

Considering that it addresses the problems of every generation, the bible ought to be loved by everyone.  This is the holy book that has consistently refused to promote one culture above another or denigrate one culture at the expense of the other.  Rather, it concerns itself with what is of benefit to man both in time and in eternity.  To the bible, 'There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.'

For a book that came about not by the will of any man, what it offers is particularly unique.  Such uniqueness can be found in the amazing capacity of its words for self-renewal and the ability to offer what no other book ever does, hope.  Only a book that had an eternal origin could have so miraculously continued to outlive every restriction, government and political system that sought to discourage its use. 

 

Moreover, as God's eternal love letter to mankind, its contents have become the only package known to be capable of satisfying every yearning of the human heart.  Certainly, as the divinely anointed manual of operations on spiritual warfare, the bible has become the only true compass at the disposal of all those who would navigate successfully the minefield that is earthly life.
